In a similar vein, this guy has a Changeling contract that lets him magically identify what a person's current greatest fear is - current meaning directly related to the person's emotional state, so if he tries it on someone already being scared by something he'll get a false positive for that specific source of terror (eg, someone who's not arachnophobic still gets scared by a surprise spider, he'd identify them as "scared of spiders").
